I just wanted to let you all know that I am back online at my home and I am very excited about this!!  Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!  I have gotten a lot of things done in the backyard today and it is really looking better!  Now I have to wash clothes and get ready for the upcoming week and weekend.  A conference in Montgomery and then a weekend of golf or beach-not sure which one yet but I know that either of them will be great!!!

Catching You Up

Well it has been a turbulent week and a half or so.  Some highs, some lows.  The weekend I played golf with Dad I had a bad bump under my arm that just wasn't getting any better.  I worked in the county last Monday and then had a training in Montgomery on Tuesday so it was last Wednesday before I could get someone to look at it. LONG story short-I have a Staph Infection and it wasn't getting better until it got worse.  After she lanced the first place under my arm, another place came up with a VENGEANCE!  It became known as the "Egg" between Mom, Dad and I. That's what it felt like--a hot, mean egg! I started running a fever and I was just miserable for a few days.  Barely able to move my arm.

BUT I AM ON THE MEND!

So it was pointed out to me that I didn't change the scales when I lost 2 pounds.  And after yesterday it doesn't matter because I gained 3 during my stay at home and not being able to work out.  I am not worried, I think most of it is probably water weight.  I am hoping to get back into my workout routine this week AND back into my jogging routine.  I mean I do plan on running a 1/2 Marathon! :)    Hope you are all good...I still need to add the pictures from Dumpling making and a few other things so there is lots to look forward to.

On a Side Note, many of you who probably read my brother's blog may know that my Aunt Jenny has been in the hospital down in Dothan.  She is struggling and we know now it will be a few weeks before she really starts to mend so if you can keep her in your prayers that would be great!

Here's your funny for the week!

Glad it's OVER

Ok, so I am a state employee who really does enjoy the benefits that come along with it....one of which is some great holidays.  However I must say that I am NOT a fan of Monday holidays.  It just throws my whole week off.  On top of all of that this week has just been off in so many different ways.  I have been on a roller coaster.  The good news is that Rox and I made it to Elba this weekend safely and I am ready to play some golf! More good news on top of all of that is that I am down 2 pounds and I just ran 3 miles with a hill in it this week and made it through!

Well Dad has "My Girl" cranked up so I have to run!
Talk at whoever is out there in cyberland soon!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!

The 4th of July has always been a very big holiday in my family.  We typically spend it at the beach and only once in recent memory do I remember missing the trip.  We always have a wonderful time.  This year, unfortunatley, Aunt Jenny was sick and the Stephens weren't able to attend.  The GOOD news is that she is feeling much better and we are all very thankful for that!  We did celebrate at the beach, my friend FA joined us as did Blake!  We had a wonderful time on the beach and some of Dad's friends from Defuniak came down and joined us!  Just couldn't ask for anything more.

As I am heading back today on the actual date of 4th of July.  I just have to remember the AMAZING Men and Women who not only served our country for us to obtain freedom but those who continue fighting for us today!!!  We have a sweet cousin who is currently overseas who is in our prayers everyday.

Thank you all for your service--and remember Freedom is something that shouldn't be taken lightly and as always be safe!!

Final Hiking Post

One of the many poems I happen to remember from High School.  And we had planned to go to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest!  You can find the details for it here- http://main.nc.us/graham/hiking/joycekil.html
It was really amazing!  The trees are huge!  On the way there we stopped at some beautiful waterfalls! So here are some of the final pictures from our trip!!  It was a wonderful trip that is making me want to hike a lot more often and I really think that is a good thing!  Enjoy the final pictures from our trip!

See the Rainbow below! :)  So glad I got it in the picture!

We finally made it to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest!  We are getting started on the hike and these two are excited!

Below are three pictures I put together to try show you just how tall and wide the trees are there.  It's amazing and I realize that I can't imagine how big the redwoods would be!

I loved these roots and took a tone of pictures!  They are like something out of a Lord of the Rings book or something!

See they are BIG!

Final picture to top you off on my trip catch up!  Mom has told Neil and Me forever about when she was a young girl they would swing from these around their little subdivision like monkeys! Well she thought about demonstrating that for us...she didn't swing full out but we did get a picture just in case!!!

I love my Mother and Aunt Debbie for doing this with me!  We had so much fun and it is something I will always remember.  I am sorry the pictures were so very delayed, however the tornadoes were a part of that.  I hope you have enjoyed the last few postings of this trip!  And I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Check Off #13 (Part 2)

So the day after Aunt Debbie and I hiked we had to change our plans a little.  I had some not so great blisters and knowing that we had a 3 mile hike on the way home we decided to spend the day fishing and just hanging out!

Now we start the "Where's Waldo" portion of the fishing....can you find the fish in the next two pictures?!

We were hoping to catch enough fish for dinner that night and what we were catching just wasn't going to cut it.  We had a few fries left and luckily we caught just enough fish and we laughed and said God had provided the "Fishes and the Fries" for dinner!

It was a wonderful day!!  Laid back and no where to be at any certain time.  We just had a wonderful day.  The final day will be posted soon! Stay tuned!
