CRUISE....check!

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted! We got back from the cruise on Monday and yesterday was a hectic day for me at work. But we had a BLAST!

We left on Thursday, the 30th(!!!), and the waiters sang to me at dinner! It was a great start to my 30th year and this whole thing! Our first stop was in Freeport . We didn't have a ton of time to spend here, however we made the most of the time we had. We found the market area and milled around for a while. Mom and I found the beach! And then we found "Sands". I highly recommend this yummy beverage if you ever venture down the Bahamian way! I had a conch burger for lunch with one of these to wash it down with. Then it was back to the boat for a little down time before our "fancy" dinner and the big count down.

Dinner was one of our favorite times as a group. We like getting dressed up and we all enjoy trying new things! So this was a time we could all enjoy together. New Year's Eve was our "dress-up" night, although I know I am biased I think we were the best looking group every night, and we were in style. Notice we had the best waiter on the ship, Camillio, and he is in the shot above! After dinner it was up to the Lido deck for the big count down. The whole boat was up there-they had the Dick Clark New Year's Eve thrown up on the boat and everyone counted down as the ball dropped...5...4....3...2...1....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

It was the best New Year's party I have ever been to! Then it was on to Nassau! We spent a full day in this particular port. However we were in for a little surprise! Every year in Nassau on January 1st they have the Junkanoo parade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junkanoo According to our taxi driver this parade starts at midnight New Year's Eve and runs all day New Year's Day. The groups make multiple trips through the parading route for a specific period of time. They are judged and the winner of each category wins around $100,000! Now that is incentive to parade!!! We then made our way to Atlantis because all the shops were closed until 2 due to the parade. Once at Atlantis we decided we needed to go to the beach! Luckily they were almost completely handicap accessible for Neil!! We laid on the beach for probably 2 hours but then BAMA came on and would you believe that Neil, Dad and Jerry found a Sports Book?! Well, we ate lunch at Atlantis, went through the aquariums-they were amazing and there is no way I can post all the pictures of the different fish and things that I took! This post would fill up three note book pages if I did that. But the money we paid for the beaches, aquariums, and lunch was definitely the thing to do!
Finally the last full day of the trip was a day at sea. We laid out by the pool, played in the hot tub, and we even played one of the trivia games! We had a blast just soaking in the sun on our last full day of the cruise.
This trip was a great birthday, wonderful time with my family, and a much needed vacation! I will always cherish the memories we made!
(So I have started working on plans for the rest of my list! I have even booked my SKYDIVING!! Mom says she will show up for that one...we shall see!! Talk to you all soon!)
