Thankful

October 30th will be exactly 2 years since I moved to Tuscaloosa and bought my house.  It has been an amazing two years and I have so much to be thankful for!  I have made new friends, had some wonderful experiences, and before 2 years ago I think the total amount of time I had hung out with Amy was about 2 days over the total of our lives!

I really wanted to share one recent story.

Sunday Michael, Amy and I went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 3.  Bless Michael, he had to sit between Amy and me-she had one arm and I had the other.  He is so sweet to put up with us...and obviously he is ok with it because we have planned to watch scary movies on Friday night!  So...Last night I was going to the grocery story really quickly to return some movies-when I opened my garage door it BROKE. I am working so hard on a promotion at work and things at home seem to have gone a little crazy.  So I freaked and locked my house since I couldn't let the door down.  I called Michael, Amy's fiance on the way to the grocery store.  They hopped in the car and came over.  In the last 2 years we have gotten to be wonderful friends!  Amy is my "cousin by marriage"....that is the easiest way to explain it.  My Mom's brother, John, is married to Amy's Mom's sister, Jenny! Haha Amy graced me with the honor of asking me to be her Maid of Honor for her wedding!  I tell her that I am the Old Maid of Honor since I am 8 years older than her!!!

Basically it has been amazing to have Amy in my life and Michael is an added bonus!  We made sure he knew early on that we were a package deal and that our family is included in the package! It has just been great getting to know "this side" of the family and I am really very thankful.

  3. Reese, I have just read some of your blog entries. I found them quiet interesting. When I saw the T-shirts with the "3/2 The Unit" I wondered what it was about, then read on and I realized what it represented. A wonderful cause. I can't get over that there are four of your co-workers that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. That seems to me to be a huge amount. How many co-workers do you have?

I also understand the weight issue. I have been overweight since I was a kid. Believe me it never gets easy. Lifestyle is the one key component that we do have control over, but then age can be a real factor. When you get older and you have knee problems in both knees you aren't able to exercise or walk like you should.

I do need to end this as it is the length of a blog itself rather than a comment. By the way, I live in Elba.
